Almost 900 attendees gathered for the IODS 2024 Defence & Industry Dinner in collaboration with the Better Together Ball on Thursday 25 July 2024 at the Perth Exhibition and Convention Centre.
This year, the Better Together Ball was a partnership between RSL WA, Legacy WA and Police Legacy WA.
This sold-out event raised funds via the sale of raffle tickets, a silent auction and donations. Proceeds raised are shared between RSL WA, Legacy WA and Police Legacy WA to progress life-changing support services.
RSL WA CEO Stephen Barton noted, “This was a great opportunity for Legacy WA, Police Legacy and RSL WA to work together, building networks with the broader defence industries.”
Special guests included Honourable Paul Papalia CSC MLA, Minister for Police, Corrective Services, Racing and Gaming, Defence Industry, Veteran Issues; Brigadier Brett Chaloner CSC; Vice Admiral Tim Barrett AO, CSC, RAN (Retd), Director, AMDA Foundation Limited; Professor Kylie Russell, School of Medicine, The University of Notre Dame Australia; and The Australian Army Band.
RSL WA would like to thank our event sponsors, charity partners, the AMDA Foundation Limited, Defence West, and all who made this night possible. Participation in this event helps us unite the Defence industry and Ex-Service Organisations to support WA veterans and their families.
Next year’s ball is scheduled for August 2025. Mark your calendar – we’ll see you there!
